הסיפור השני שייך לדמות המספרת, שהיא בת דמותה הפיוטית של גיבורת הסיפור. זו מתבוננת במתרחש ממרחקים משתנים. לעתים היא מאמצת את מבטה ואת לשונה של הגיבורה שלה ולעתים היא מתארת את העולם דמוי המציאות מלמעלה ובאמצעות שפה גבוהה, כמו מתורגמת, מהודרת ומיושנת משהו, בכוונת מכוון. זו עברית "יותר טובה", במופגן, מהעברית שבה חושבים ומדברים וגם כותבים רבים מהישראלים ילידי הארץ.
