"אין זיכרון אחר" הוא ספר הפרוזה הראשון של המשורר רועי חסן, אחד מנציגיה הבולטים של המהפכה המזרחית בשירה העברית. חסן התפרסם ב-2014 בעקבות שירו "מדינת אשכנז" (שיצאנגד האופן שבו נתפס המזרחי בעיני ההגמוניה האשכנזית), והפך מאז לאחד המשוררים המשפיעים בארץ.כעת, בקובץ הסיפורים"אין זיכרון אחר", חסן מתגלה גם כמספר טבעי, לא מצטעצע וישיר בשפתו, שבורא דמויות שוליים מדממות הנעותבין תקווה לייאוש, הרחק ממרכז העיר. הגיבורים של חסן הם נערים וגברים מזרחים מהפריפריה, שמחפשים את מקומם ואת קולם בחברה. אין באתוס הישראלי שום דבר מובן מאליו או קדוש מבחינתם, וחלקם חיים במחסור כלכלי ובמשפחות מפורקות. ב"חייב לראות קב"ן" זהו חייל שמסרב להתפנות מהבקו"ם, כי הדבר היחיד שהוא רוצה זה להשתחרר משירותכדי לפרנס את אמו החולה ואחיו הקטן. "ימים מחורבנים" מספר על שרשרת של אסונות שעובר נער לאורך שבוע שלם, עד למכה הקשה מכולן זכייתה בגביע אירופה של קבוצת הכדורסל מכבי תל אביב. מתחת למציאות החיים הקשה של כמה מגיבורי הקובץ,רוחשים הסיפורים של חסן באהבת חיים, בתשוקות וברגשות עזים. חסן בוחן את מהותו המתעתעת של הזיכרון: האם יש דבר כזה זיכרון אמיתי? האם אפשר לומר שזיכרון אינו אמיתי רק משום שיש בו מרכיבים בדיוניים? העיסוק הזה בזיכרון ניכר במיוחד בסיפור "בסוף היה ים", שבו הגיבור גבר צעיר מחדרה מחליט לצאת מביתו מוקדם בבוקר, כשבחוץ עוד חשוך, ולצעוד מערבה, אל הים, כדי לעשות משהו שהגיע הזמן לעשות. בדרך הוא עובר ברחובות עיר ילדותו, ספק מטייל בעולם היחיד שהוא מכיר, ספק נפרד ממנו. רועי חסן, חתן פרס ברנשטיין לשירה, הוציא עד כה שני ספרי שירה שזכו לשבחי המבקרים. הוא חי בחדרה עם אשתו עמירה ובתם אסי.
